Whitefish Bay Recreation Department has summer 2025 program offerings

Summer is a time of exploration, growth, and endless fun, and the Whitefish Bay Recreation Department has you covered with an exciting lineup of summer activities perfect for North Shore families.

Here's a detailed overview of what's happening this summer, including key dates and registration information:

K-Camp and Day Camps (June 23 – August 15)

Designed for younger adventurers (K4-K5 and grades 1-6), these camps feature weekly themes such as Movin’ and Groovin’ (June 23-27), Treasure Island (July 7-11), Superheroes in Training (July 14-18), Under the Sea (July 21-25), and Animal Adventures (August 11-15). Exciting weekly field trips include Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Brown Deer Pond, Cedarburg Pool, and the Milwaukee Zoo. Registration deadline is May 23, 2025, and spots fill quickly!

Morning Preschool Camp (June 23 – August 1)

Preschool Camp at Lydell School & Community Center offers playful, structured mornings for children turning 3 years old by June 23. Activities include arts, crafts, storytime, and social play, with sessions running from 9:15 am to 11:45 am. Register for individual two-week sessions.

Kinder Camp (June 23 – August 1)

Held at Richards and Cumberland Elementary Schools, this camp provides activities promoting independence, classroom skills, and social interaction for children entering K4-K5. Sessions run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, weekly registration available.

Specialized Youth Enrichment Programs (June – August)

Dive into creativity with Clay Studio sessions (June 16-27, July 7-18), ACT workshops (July 14-25, July 28-August 8), Safe at Home from Heller Safety Solutions (June 24, July 22 and Aug 20) and CPR/First Aid Certification, Ages: 11 years & up (June 10, July 29, Aug 26), themed drawing camps such as "Under the Sea" (August 4-8) and "Coconuts & Crowns: A Polynesian Adventure" (July 7-11). Additional workshops include sewing, digital photography, and jewelry-making.

Sports and Fitness

Fitness enthusiasts can enjoy gymnastics, youth golf, swimming, and tennis lessons all summer long. Specialty camps like Play Hard Hoops Basketball provide sports skills training for an active, engaging summer.

Teen-Focused Opportunities

Teens can get a jumpstart on college applications (August 5-7), explore pottery throwing (June 17-July 15), or attend Blue Duke Freshman Academy (July 21-24) for high school preparedness.

Adult and Senior Activities

Adults and seniors can participate in pottery workshops, tennis, aquatics, fitness classes, and volunteer at the Community Garden (April – October). These programs offer great ways to stay active, healthy, and connected within the community.

How to Register

Resident Lottery Registration opens March 10, 2025, and continues until March 23. Resident Lottery Selection Date is March 24. Non-Resident Registration opens March 25. Sign up early as many programs fill quickly!
