JCC Scholarship Opportunity for Local High School Seniors

The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) announces two fantastic scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors in the Milwaukee Metro area. These scholarships are part of the JCC's commitment to empowering the next generation of community leaders and fostering personal growth.

Lizzie Kander Heart of Community Scholarship ($1,000)

This scholarship recognizes a graduating senior whose life has been positively impacted by programs at the JCC. To apply, students are asked to write a short essay (150-500 words) describing how the JCC has influenced their life, family, or community.

Eligible Applicants Include:

  • Alumni of Gan Ami Early Childhood Education & Kids Center

  • Albert & Ann Deshur JCC Rainbow Day Camp campers, staff, or alumni

  • Steve & Shari Sadek Family Camp Interlaken JCC campers and alumni

  • Current or former JCC members or participants in fitness, recreation, aquatics, and inclusion programs (including the JCC Maccabi Games)

  • PJ Library Milwaukee alumni

  • Current or former clients of the Jewish Community Pantry

Applicants must plan to attend a 2- or 4-year college, university, or a technical/vocational school program.

Roman Shklyar Outstanding Jewish Tennis Player Scholarship ($1,000)

This scholarship is specifically for Jewish high school seniors who demonstrate excellence both athletically and academically, while actively participating in community service.

Eligible Applicants:

  • Jewish high school seniors who have excelled in tennis

  • Students planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university

Scholarship Winners Announced: Monday, April 14, 2025
Awards Celebration: Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the JCC’s Annual Celebration & Awards event
