The Shorewood Dairyland Mile

Shorewood Dairyland Mile

The Shorewood Dairyland Mile is an all-ages race

If you're looking for an exciting and family-friendly way to experience the Tour of America's Dairyland, the Shorewood Dairyland Mile is the perfect event. Set for Friday, June 27, 2025, this high-energy, one-mile race is open to runners of all speeds and experience levels. Whether you're aiming for a personal record or just want to soak up the electric atmosphere, Shorewood's race is a must-see (or must-run!) event.

The Dairyland Mile Series is a two-night event that brings together runners and spectators for an exhilarating one-mile race right before the Downer and Shorewood Tour of America’s Dairyland Criterium cycling events. The series features:

  • Shorewood Dairyland Mile (Friday, June 27)

  • Downer Ave Dairyland Mile (Saturday, June 28)

Both races are filled with thousands of cheering fans, energetic crowds, and plenty of post-race fun. The Shorewood event brings its own unique charm with a vibrant community feel, great spectating spots, and excellent local restaurants and bars to enjoy after the race.

If you’ve never attended a criterium-style race, you're in for a treat. Imagine sprinting down a fast, closed-road course, lined with enthusiastic spectators, music pumping, and the smell of delicious food in the air.

Here’s what makes the Shorewood Dairyland Mile special:

  • Fun for all runners – Whether you're a seasoned runner or just want to see if you can still run a mile like you did in high school gym class, this race welcomes everyone who can finish in under 15 minutes.

  • Awesome spectator experience – Grab a spot near the start/finish line on Oakland Avenue to cheer on the runners and stay for the high-speed pro cycling races that follow.

  • Post-Race Celebrations: Stick around after the race for free beer and cookies, and enjoy one of the best swag packages of any local running event.

Best Places to Watch

  • Start/Finish Line on Oakland Avenue – Feel the rush as runners take off and sprint toward the finish.

  • Camp Bar – Rustic, Northwoods vibes with craft cocktails and a great selection of beer.
