Soft Shell Crab BLT - Crave Café, Shorewood. 10/10— at CRAVE Cafe.

I was told that Crave Cafe in Shorewood has one of the best burgers in Milwaukee, so I decided to check it out. I got their Crave Burger, which had carmelized onions, arugula, and white truffle aioli. If you’re a lover of truffles like I am, then this aioli will hit the spot! I also got a side of their Cajun fries which were seasoned well and had a slight crunch. This place is small, so I recommend getting there early if you wanr to grab a table.

A big shout-out to a new(ish) restaurant in Shorewood, Riley’s Sandwich Company. This dog-friendly, gourmet sandwich shop has tons of delicious options, from steak to chicken to vegetable - and much more. Food came out quick — less than 10 minutes when ordered at 12:00 on a Tuesday afternoon.

While you may pay a bit more for some of these sandwiches, you’re paying for incredibly high-quality ingredients and sandwich toppings/combos that you just cannot get anywhere else.

I tried one of their specials, a collaboration with another awesome Milwaukee food spot called Lumpia City. My sandwich was called the “Philly Mac” and it consisted of beef tenderloin steak, cheese, mushroom, onion, bell pepper, and spicy Giardiniera, all atop a freshly baked house roll and then stuffed with a 5-Cheese Mac Lumpia Roll for good, gluttonous measure. It was heavenly, and I can’t wait to go back and try another delicious sandwich soon. Whatever you do, don’t sleep on Riley’s!
