Celebrate Spring in Bloom at the Redbud Festival in Mequon
Mayors’ Grove along the Mequon Riverwalk showcases the beauty of redbud trees
Looking for the perfect way to kick off spring and celebrate Mother’s Day weekend? Don’t miss the debut of the Redbud Festival, a brand-new community celebration taking place on Saturday, May 10 from noon to 5 pm in front of Mequon City Hall.
The Redbud Festival is the newest addition to Mequon’s beloved city festival lineup, joining the well-established Taste of Mequon and Winter Wonderland events. The City of Mequon Festivals Committee—formed in 2013 with the goal of hosting three seasonal festivals annually—has brought this spring celebration to life as a tribute to the Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary Club’s Redbud Project.
🌸 A Festival with Deep Roots
The Redbud Project, launched in 2011, was envisioned to beautify Mequon’s Riverwalk and Town Center by planting redbud trees that bloom each spring. The new Redbud Festival celebrates this vibrant legacy with a mix of art, gardening, music, and community fun—just as the trees reach peak bloom.
🎶 What to Expect
Live music from Whole Yachta Love (2–5 pm)
Local eats from Smokin’ C’s BBQ, Appethai, That Taco Guy, Foxtown Brewing, and SIP MKE
Creative stations for kids and adults alike:
Create your own Mother’s Day bouquet and card
Face painting, craft vendors, and photo booth fun
