Adventures at Wonderland Bookshop

March events at Wonderland

At Wonderland Bookshop, reading is more than just a pastime—it’s a gateway to infinite possibilities. The shelves are filled with tales that spark imagination, stories that inspire, and narratives that encourage curiosity. This family-owned shop is more than a bookstore; it’s a portal to creativity and connection.

Located at 4001 N. Downer Avenue in Shorewood, Wonderland has put together a wonderful lineup of March events designed to bring families together and nurture a lifelong love of reading. Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

Saturday, March 8 at 11 am – Second Saturdays with Miss Connie

Every second Saturday of the month, author Constance Malloy hosts a lively story session. This recurring event brings fresh tales and interactive storytelling activities that spark imagination and keep kids coming back for more.

Sunday, March 9 at 11:30am – Story Time & Book Drive with Sabrina Garner

Sabrina Garner, founder of Read MKE, will lead a special story time. Families are invited to bring gently used children’s books for a community book drive. It’s a wonderful way to share stories with others while enjoying an engaging reading session.

Saturday, March 15 at 11 am – Author & Illustrator Visit: Ceara Milligan & Lenora Hill

Meet the dynamic duo behind a new children’s book as author Ceara Milligan and illustrator Lenora Hill visit Wonderland to share their new book, “I Love You As You Are.”

“This story is very close to my heart and is written as a poem that celebrates the beauty of loving others—imperfections, quirks, and all,” Milligan wrote when launching the book. “It conveys an important message: that we are loved and valued not in spite of, but because of everything that makes us uniquely ourselves.”

Saturday, March 22 at 11 am – World Poetry Day

Immerse yourself in the rhythm and art of poetry. In honor of World Poetry Day, Wonderland will host a poetry reading and a hands-on poetry art activity. It’s a chance for families to explore creative expression together.

Saturday, March 29 at 11 am – Spring Break Story Time

Celebrate the start of spring break with an indoor beach party. Children can wear their favorite beach outfits while enjoying stories set in warm, sunny places. A special craft session will follow, perfect for keeping those imaginations active.

From meeting local authors and illustrators to celebrating literary icons like Dr. Seuss, there’s something at Wonderland for every reader in the family. Each event offers a chance to build connections, discover new books, and nurture a lifelong passion for reading.

For more information or to reserve a spot at any of these events, stop by Wonderland Bookshop at 4001 N. Downer Avenue, Shorewood. Come ready to explore new worlds, meet friendly faces, and add a little magic to your family’s reading routine.

We hope to see you there, turning pages and making memories. Here’s to a month of discovery and imagination at Wonderland. Enjoy your March adventures!
