Milwaukee's North Shore offers a variety of family-friendly events throughout June 2025. This guide organizes upcoming events by date and categorizes them by community, making it easy to plan your family adventures this summer.
Shorewood
First Ride/Bike Rodeo – Tuesday, June 10, 2025 (9:30 am–12:30 pm) at Atwater Elementary School (Shorewood). A free clinic for kids (ages 3+) to learn bike safety. Instruction uses a “balance-first” method (no training wheels) on the school’s playground. The Shorewood Foundation sponsors this event, which requires pre-registration and helmets for all children. It’s a perfect way for beginners to practice cycling in a fun, supervised setting.
Shorewood Farmers’ Market – Sundays, June 15–Oct 26, 2025 (9:30 am–1:00 pm) at Estabrook Park (Shorewood). A weekly Sunday market along the Milwaukee River. Local growers and bakers sell fresh vegetables, flowers, breads and more. The park setting means families can picnic on the riverbank while listening to the live weekend music that accompanies the market.
21st Annual Shorewood Criterium – Friday, June 27, 2025 (racing day-long throughout Shorewood). Part of the Tour of America’s Dairyland, this is the largest local cycling event of the year. Street races run all day (amateurs and pros), and kids’ races are held in Kensington Square (for ages 3–12). Families can watch the race parade by, then enjoy the Kensington Square block party with food vendors. All participating kids get free treats (like frozen custard or cookies).
Milwaukee Brat House Summerfest Shuttle — June 19–21, June 26–28, and July 3–5. For a convenient and enjoyable trip to Summerfest, consider taking the complimentary shuttle offered by the Milwaukee Brat House in Shorewood. Located at 4022 N Oakland Ave, the Brat House provides free shuttle service to Summerfest throughout the festival days. Shuttles run continuously from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and the service is complimentary with any food or beverage purchase. Whitefish Bay
Ice Cream Social – Wednesday, June 15, 2025 (6:30–8:00 pm) at Old School House Park (5420 N. Marlborough Dr). A classic start-of-summer party hosted by the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation. Families enjoy free live music by the Village Band and complimentary Pete’s Pops ice cream treats in the park. It’s a budget-friendly outing where kids can play on the lawn while parents relax.
Whitefish Bay Farmers’ Market – Saturdays, June 11–Oct 11, 2025 (8:30 am–12:30 pm) at Silver Spring Drive (corner of Santa Monica). This weekly open-air market features fresh local produce, baked goods and artisan crafts. Shoppers will find live music and occasional kids’ activities, making it a lively family-friendly morning downtown.
Sip, Shop & Support Local – Thursday, June 19, 2025 (5:00–7:00 pm) on Silver Spring Drive. Local shops stay open late for an evening of pop-up tastings and entertainment. Visitors can stroll downtown enjoying beer and wine samples, special sales and live music in Consaul Commons. It’s a festive summer kickoff – parents can shop and sip while kids enjoy the outdoor vibe.
Bayside
Bayside Beer Garden – Sunday, June 21, 2025 (3:30–9:00 pm) and Sunday, July 12, 2025 (3:30–9:00 pm) at Ellsworth Park. Outdoor family-friendly events hosted by Torzala Brewing Co. On each date, beer and soda trucks park in the park, and food vendors (like Atwood BBQ) serve dinner. Live music plays and children’s games are set up on the lawn. (Adults enjoy the beer garden seating; kids have space to run and play). These are free-admission evenings where neighbors can gather, picnic and relax in the park
Fox Point
Freedom PT 5K Run/Walk – Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 8:30 am (starts/ends at Freedom Physical Therapy, 6908 N. Santa Monica Blvd). A family-friendly fundraising race for the Fox Point Foundation. Runners and walkers of all ages (and even dogs) are welcome to participate. The looped 5K course winds through residential Fox Point and returns to the clinic. It’s a fun, healthy community event – wear sneakers and enjoy the neighborhood scenery.
Rock the Fox Concert: Mixtape – Wednesday, June 18, 2025 (6:00–8:30 pm) at Longacre Pavilion (7343 N. Longacre Rd). A free summer concert for families. Mixtape plays ’80s/’90s pop and rock covers; kids can dance on the lawn while parents relax. (Bring picnic blankets or chairs; concessions and picnicking are available, weather permitting).
Mequon
$2 from every drink sold goes to local rescues and nonprofits at Foxtown Brewery’s Yappy Hour
Yappy Hour at Foxtown Brewing – Wednesday, June 11, 2025 (4–9 pm) at Foxtown Brewing (6411 W. Mequon Rd., Mequon). Bring your pup for an evening of wagging tails, live music, juicy burgers and cold Foxtown brews. The dog-friendly patio transforms into a lively gathering spot, and $2 from every drink sold benefits local rescues and nonprofits. Global Fusion & Local Flavor – Saturday, June 21, 2025 (2 pm) at Rotary Park (4100 Highland Rd. A community food festival celebrating cultural diversity. Hosted by the Mequon-Milwaukee Diversity Passport Rotary Club, this event features international cuisines prepared by local chefs. Attendees purchase tickets to sample dishes from around the world, all set up in Rotary Park. It’s a tasty way for families to try new flavors and support a good cause (past years have highlighted everything from Latin, African, to Middle Eastern fare)
Thiensville
Thiensville Village Rummage Sale – Saturday, June 21, 2025 (8:00 am–2:00 pm) across village. A town-wide yard-sale day – dozens of families within about one square mile set up garage sales simultaneously. Shoppers can plot a route through Thiensville’s neighborhoods hunting for bargains on clothes, books, toys, home decor, and more. This sprawling “community sale” is a fun way for families to find treasures and enjoy a day out on the sidewalks.
Thiensville Village Market – Tuesdays, June 24 through October 14, 2025 (9:00 am–2:00 pm) at Village Park. An award-winning weekly farmers market in the heart of Thiensville. Vendors sell local produce, flowers, meats, cheeses and handmade crafts. Live music (“Music at the Market”) plays 11 am–2 pm each week – past performers include folk and jazz artists. Parents and kids can stroll the stalls, grab lunch from a food truck, and sit by the river to enjoy the tunes and sunshine.
Family Fun Before the Fourth – Saturday, June 28, 2025 (10:30 am–10:00 pm) at Village Park (250 Elm St). Thiensville’s all-day Independence Day festival. It starts at 10:30 am with a parade through Mequon and Thiensville (draped with red, white & blue). After the parade, Village Park becomes party central: live bands perform on the stage, food and drink booths open, kids’ games and a softball tournament take place, and there are free attractions like boat & jet ski shows on the river. The evening ends with a fireworks display over the Milwaukee River. With activities for babies through grandparents, this event is a marquee family outing for the North Shore.
Eats & Beats Concert Series – Thursday, June 19, 2025 (5–9 pm) at Village Park. Thiensville’s free summer concert series. On June 19 The Britins (a Beatles tribute band) rocks the park with classic hits with local food trucks and a beer/wine garden.
