Whitefish Bay
Whitefish Bay Farmers’ Market – Saturdays (8:30 am–12:30 pm) at Silver Spring Drive (corner of Santa Monica) This weekly open-air market features fresh local produce, baked goods and artisan crafts. Shoppers will find live music and occasional kids’ activities, making it a lively family-friendly morning downtown.
Whitefish Bay Fourth of July Parade & Celebration – Friday, July 4, 2025 (11:30 am parade, festivities through evening). The annual Independence Day parade steps off at 11:30 am (Kent Ave & Silver Spring) and marches to Klode Park. The afternoon in Klode Park features live music, children’s games and food trucks. A fireworks show at 9:20 pm caps the night. (Bring chairs/blankets; the Civic Foundation supplies free treats and live tunes on the lawn).
Sidewalk Sale – Friday–Saturday, July 25–26, 2025 (9:00 am–5:00 pm) on Silver Spring Drive. Downtown merchants put goods on sale in the street for a fun shopping festival. On Saturday, the park at School House hosts a “Kids’ Adventure Zone” (climbing wall, crafts, games) so the whole family can enjoy a day of bargains and outdoor entertainment.
Shorewood
Shorewood Fourth of July – Friday, July 4, 2025 (3 pm parade, fireworks at dusk). A mid-afternoon parade rolls down Oakland Ave at 3 pm (with flags and colorful floats). The parade culminates at Atwater Park, where the evening ends with a spectacular fireworks show over the riverbank. The Shorewood Foundation and local sponsors put on this free event each year – it’s a cheerful community celebration with something for all ages.
Milwaukee Brat House Summerfest Shuttle — July 3–5, 2025, noon to midnight. For a convenient trip to Summerfest, consider taking the complimentary shuttle offered by the Milwaukee Brat House at 4022 N Oakland Ave. Shuttles run continuously from noon to midnight, and the service is complimentary with any food or beverage purchase. Glendale
Live @ The Oasis Summer Concerts – Wednesdays (6:30–8:30 pm) at Richard E. Maslowski Community Park (2200 W. Bender Rd). This free weekly concert series features a variety of music. Notable dates include July 16 (Kids Night with Kid Boogie Down Dance Party – energetic children’s music), and other family-friendly acts. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics or buy dinner from food trucks. Every concert is “weather permitting,” so check local updates before heading out.
Glendale 4th of July Celebration – Friday, July 4, 2025 (10:00 am–dusk) at Kletzsch Park (Milwaukee River Pkwy). A full-day, family-friendly festival. The Children’s Parade starts at 10:00 am (kids in red-white-blue costumes, with goody bags). Afternoon activities (starting around 4:30 pm) include a food truck festival (diverse cuisine stalls), bouncy houses, a dunk tank, and other games. As dusk falls, a grand fireworks display lights up the sky. This event is perfect for all ages – pack a lawn chair and enjoy patriotic fun for kids and adults alike.
Fox Point
Rock the Fox Concert: The Spiders – Wednesday, July 16, 2025 (6:00–8:30 pm) at Longacre Pavilion. Another free evening show in the series. The Spiders cover classics from Elvis Presley through David Bowie. Families can enjoy live music together under the stars (food trucks and beer garden are usually on site).
Fox Point Fourth of July Parade – Friday, July 4, 2025 (8:30–10:30 am) at Longacre Pavilion. A patriotic morning for families. Kids bring decorated bikes for the bike parade: bike decorating starts at 8:30 am, followed by the parade at 9:00 am. When the parade returns around 9:45 am, an ice cream social begins at the Pavilion. (Pete’s Pops provides free frozen treats).
The Fox Point Farmers Market operates every Saturday between June 14 to October 11, between 8 AM and noon, at 7330 N. Santa Monica Blvd., in the parking lot of the North Shore Congregational Church.
Bayside
Bayside 4th of July Parade – Friday, July 4, 2025 at 9:00 am (start at Village Hall, 9075 N Regent Rd). The Village’s annual Independence Day parade steps off at 9:00 am. Marchers head east on Ellsworth Lane, then loop through the neighborhood to finish at Ellsworth Park. The community is invited to line the streets or converge at the park; often, a small celebration or cookout follows the parade. (Gather at Village Hall by 8:45 am for best viewing).
Bayside Beer Garden – Sunday, July 12, 2025 (3:30–9:00 pm) at Ellsworth Park. Outdoor family-friendly events hosted by Torzala Brewing Co. On each date, beer and soda trucks park in the park, and food vendors (like Atwood BBQ) serve dinner. Live music plays and children’s games are set up on the lawn. (Adults enjoy the beer garden seating; kids have space to run and play). These are free-admission evenings where neighbors can gather, picnic and relax in the park.
Mequon
Yappy Hour at Foxtown Brewing – Wednesday, July 9, 2025 (4–9 pm) at Foxtown Brewing (6411 W. Mequon Rd., Mequon). Bring your pup for an evening of wagging tails, live music, juicy burgers and cold Foxtown brews. The dog-friendly patio transforms into a lively gathering spot, and $2 from every drink sold benefits local rescues and nonprofits. Sponsored by Fromm Family Pet Food, Yappy Hour is a fun way for families to enjoy a night out while supporting great causes. Find more dog-friendly North Shore events.
Rise & Shine in the Park – Thursday, July 31, 2025 (evening event) at Rotary Park (7300 N. Mequon Rd) An annual Christian music festival that has become a local summer tradition. Families are invited to this open-air worship concert featuring popular Christian bands and worship artists. Held under the stars, it’s a free, all-ages event emphasizing faith and community. Thiensville
Eats & Beats Concert Series – Thursday, July 17, 2025 (5:00–9:00 pm) at Village Park Thiensville’s free summer concert series. On July 17 Motown Revue with Christopher’s Project brings soul and Motown favorites. Each date has local food trucks and a beer/wine garden. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets and enjoy the music together – kids often dance and run on the grass as parents relax.
KidsFest – Saturday, July 26, 2025 (12:00–5:00 pm) at Village Park (250 Elm St). A free outdoor carnival designed just for children. Featuring live shows and music, a petting zoo, pony rides, crafts and carnival games, KidsFest offers entertainment for every age. (Previous years have included magicians, jugglers and face-painting). Food trucks and ice cream keep families fueled. It’s a must-do mid-summer festival for the whole family to play and celebrate summer in Thiensville.
