Grow a Greener Community with Bayside’s Adopt-A-Tree Program

Bayside Adopt a Tree Program

Bayside’s Adopt-A-Tree Program offers North Shore residents a chance to plant new trees

Summer may still feel far away, but it’s never too early to start thinking about adding more trees to your yard or neighborhood! The Village of Bayside is bringing back its Adopt-A-Tree Program, offering residents a chance to plant new trees at a shared cost with the Village. This initiative helps replenish tree loss while promoting species diversification, beautifying the area, and supporting local ecosystems.

The Adopt-A-Tree Program provides different options for planting trees on private property or in public rights-of-way. The Village carefully selects tree species to maintain a diverse tree canopy while keeping the maximum threshold for any species at 5%.

Residents can choose from three options:

  • Option 1: $350 – Plant a tree on private property.

  • Option 2: $300 – Plant a tree in the public right-of-way, including mulching and initial watering.

  • Option 3: $250 – Plant a tree in a designated public right-of-way location as part of the 2025 Road Project, including mulching and initial watering.

Why Adopt a Tree?

Planting a tree isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about making a lasting impact on the environment and the community. Here are some benefits of participating in the Adopt-A-Tree Program:

✅ Provides shade for homes, sidewalks, and playgrounds
✅ Reduces air and noise pollution
✅ Helps absorb and control stormwater runoff
✅ Prevents soil erosion
✅ Creates wildlife and plant diversity

If you live in Bayside and want to contribute to a greener community, now is the time to act! The Adopt-A-Tree Program is a simple yet powerful way to make a difference while enhancing your neighborhood’s natural beauty.
