JCC Hosts Milwaukee’s First-Ever Good Deeds Day

Good Deeds Day at the JCC in Whitefish Bay

Good Deeds Day takes place on April 6, 2025

Looking for a meaningful and family-friendly way to spend a Sunday this spring? Mark your calendar for Good Deeds Day on Sunday, April 6, 2025 — a day dedicated to kindness, community, and service across the Milwaukee area.

Whether your family has toddlers, teens, or grandparents in tow, this is an event designed for everyone. With activities for all ages and abilities, Good Deeds Day Milwaukee is a chance to step outside your usual weekend routine and do something that truly makes a difference.

What is Good Deeds Day?

Good Deeds Day is a global movement that began in Israel in 2007. Since then, it has grown to include millions of volunteers in over 100 countries — all coming together for one shared purpose: to do good.

This year, Milwaukee joins that movement for the first time. The event builds on the strong foundation of the annual Community-Wide Passover Food Drive (Maot Chittim) and reflects the Jewish values of:

• Chesed (loving kindness)

• Tzedakah (righteous giving)

• Tikkun Olam (repairing the world)

From packaging food for families in need to environmental clean-up and other hands-on service projects, there will be a wide variety of volunteer opportunities — happening both at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center and in neighborhoods throughout Milwaukee. Plus, everyone who registers gets lunch.

Who is Organizing Good Deeds Day?

Good Deeds Day Milwaukee is organized by:

• Tikkun Ha-Ir

• Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center

• Milwaukee Jewish Federation

…alongside more than 25 Jewish, multi-faith, and secular organizations.

How to Get Involved

• Register to volunteer and choose a service activity that fits your family

• Sponsor the event if you’re a local business or organization that wants to support this movement

• Spread the word — share with friends and neighbors

Let’s show our kids what it means to be a force for good.
